Player of the Week (Week 1) November 1-7

Make a comment on this post to nominate a player of the week. You must include why you think the player deserves the award or the vote will not count.

2008/2009 Season Update

The site is going to run at a level that is slightly below what has been happening the last few years.

I am only getting participation from a few of the colleges and nothing from the rest. If you would like to help out from your local college please e-mail me at gracbball@yahoo.com

All I need are scores the day after the game. That's it! Stats would be great, but judging by the partial information I am getting statistics that are only half-complete are nearly worthless. So, at this time stats are not going to be part of the site.

The links to each teams homepage, results pages, local print media (Newspapers) are all updated (let me know if a link is broken or I missed updating it and I will fix it quickly).

I am going to add a player of the week post for each week and anyone can nominates a player with a unique IP address (That means one computer = one nomination). the most nominations gets the award. If that gets traction I will do some additional things to make the site better and better.

As of now the conference standings will update each weekend and game scores will be posted as soon as I get them.

If you want simply comment on this post with suggestions and I will try to make it happen. (Emphasis on TRY)

Check the right side of the site at the top for the Division I and II National Tournament Official Websites.

***************************************************

I will also note that I was previously considering having a website poll of all GRAC team, due to issues some had with the voting. However, I have found out how the voting went with the official teams and I find that it is both fair and probably pretty accurate.

Coaches from all of the GRAC teams submit names from their own teams they wish to be considered for all conference honors. From this list the coaches then vote for who they think should be on the team. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players. I think this is very fair and I also think the coaches are the best people to vote. So, for this year I will yield to thier choices. Next year we will vote for both pre-season and post-season all conference teams. I will hold the voting on the website and anyone that wants to vote will be able to.

Please join me in rooting for Southeastern Illinois to represent the conference well in the National Tournament.

Standings Update and Local Print Media

The GRAC Conference standings have been updated to include all games played up to (but not including) tonight (2-6-2008).

I have also done a minor page redesign in that links to online versions of local newspapers for each college are now located under each teams heading (instead in one link at the bottom of the site).

I hope to include any radio stations that might cover the teams but I will have to research this a little further.

Another Site Update

Conference standings are updated to today (1-29-2008).

Rend Lake is off until 2-2-08 while all other GRAC teams are in conference action tomorrow night.

Good Luck to all the teams!

Back Up and Running

Due to unforseen issues at my job and a 1-2 punch of internet issues and lack of participation the Blog was way behind. Everything is now up-to-date through all games played 1-22-08. (I am still retreiving scores from 1-23-08 games.

Enjoy.
